Aurora Team Makes a Visit to The Bridge Communities

The Aurora team delivered mattresses and met the wonderful staff at The Bridge Communities. One of The RoomPlace employees, Bob, shares his experience:

“ I am very proud to be a part of the mattress donation to the Bridge Communities in Glen Ellyn.  It’s a terrific experience to help others less fortunate than us (and makes me count my blessings all the more). The Bridge Communities director, Yvonne, was very enthusiastic about her organization and the work they do. Their work allows the homeless people to work toward bettering their life. They emphasize responsibility for their actions and provide them a structure for success. Her enthusiasm was evident and impressed all the volunteers.”

Vernon Hills Team Volunteers at Northern Illinois Food Bank

The Northern Illinois Food Bank packages food donations from larger companies and distributes it to local food banks. While there, the Vernon Hills team packaged oatmeal in plastic bags, added nutritional information, and boxed them up in order to be shipped to food pantries in DuPage and Lake County. They enjoyed the experience so much that a couple of the team members have already gone back with their families to volunteer!

The RoomPlace Makes a Generous Donation to the IMD Guest House

On Friday, November 2, 2012, The RoomPlace delivered 10 Catnapper Reclining Chairs to the IMD Guest House for use in their guest rooms. These chairs were a wonderful addition for these guests suffering from cancer and receiving chemo-therapy within the medical district. They were very excited. “I am so thankful. God bless The RoomPlace for this very considerate donation,” said one guest. Reclining chairs will allow the patients to be as comfortable as possible during their stay as at times getting up from a couch or lying down flat in a bed can induce discomfort and nausea. The RoomPlace employees were so pleased to be a part of this heartwarming delivery! #100ActsofKindnessImage
